Stuffing down your feelings and food cravings and using EFT
With many of my clients who are struggling with speaking up, I also notice they have food cravings. This is not uncommon as many people who experience stress in their lives have food cravings. Struggling with speaking up and find our voice can be a major stressors. Especially if you are judging yourself.
I found that one of the big problems for my clients have been stuffing down their feelings about not saying what they want to say or feel they can’t. One of my clients recently said that she felt that her food cravings relate to what she doesn’t say or feels she can’t say and she has been trying to swallow it, chew on it, eat it and ultimately stuffing it down.
In their anxiety they turn to food to soothe and stuff down those feelings. Then they may experience feelings of shame, anger, self-blame, anxiety, or fear. You name it there are more emotions that they may be stuffing down. EFT helps us get to the bottom of what is really going on and clear the energetic connection. With food cravings, it is never about the food.
We can either tap on the cravings themselves and explore further what they are stuffing down and can’t say. Or we start with what they can’t say or won’t say and then deal with all the fears associated with it. The beauty of EFT is that there are many methods and ways to get to the issues.
