EFT and the Choices Technique
I love the Choices Techniques developed by Pat Carrington, PhD. Ingrid Dinter demonstrated this very well today in our EFT workshop. It is actually very simple.
First you have the client come up with the very best choice or outcome. What do they want? How do they really want to feel? You have the client design what they want.
When I use this technique, it is actually very exciting to use when they are ready for it. I encourage my clients to state these affirmation in a positive, interesting and exciting way. And it has to be believable.
Many clients struggle with this. It is important that the client leads in this process so I got the idea to ask her during tapping. It went like this, “How do I really want to feel about this issue?. We then tapped through the points and asked the question and at the end I asked my client, What came up for them? She had her answer so we included her exact works in the next rounds of tapping.
With the Choices Technique, we do one round of negative statements (the problem). Then the next round is all positive statements, then the last round we alternate with negative and positive statements.
We went through this process several more times until there was no emotional charge to the issue.
It was amazing the result she had. At the end she knew what her next step was and she said this wasn’t a problem anymore.
Wow, it is really wonderful to witness.
