I was reading recently about a poll that found that work place stress was the #1 stressor in peoples lives followed by financial stress as #2.
Many of my clients have come to me recently with work place stress from a variety of sources. Some are owners of their own businesses or work in an office.
Some describe their work place as toxic and feel stuck.
Many of my clients tell me that they feel exhausted from the work place stress and then in the evening they don’t have the energy for their families or to enjoy their life.
We may be looking at the situation with a one way lens due to stress and anxious feelings and it is hard to let these thoughts go.
We get caught up in the mini dramas that play out in many offices.
I can tell you this is a very big deal for people and when you are involved in it, it is hard to let go as we think it will never improve.
I can tell you that whatever the situation EFT can help you relax and look at the triggers safely and collapse them with EFT.
What if you weren’t even noticing the mini dramas that go on around you or even better the mini dramas don’t seem to have an impact on you all!
Or you are able to come up with a way that suits you to talk to the people involved without uncomfortable feelings so that you get feel heard and listened to.
This is very difficult to talk to someone in the office if you are afraid of the reaction or that you feel they are going to ignore you so you decide not to say anything at all. But then you become more angry, frustrated and disappointed and your resentment builds.
This client I had recently said things were pretty smooth until a sudden difficult work situation stirred up some really old & uncomfortable stuff for her.
Before we could go to the uncomfortable triggers I focused on the overall stress and anxious feelings first.
Once she was relaxed and less anxious we could then look at her triggers. Each person I encounter has their own individual set of triggers and I explore them with lots of questions.
When I mean by triggers I am talking about the details of what was making her so upset. This is very important to get to what really is making you upset!
What did this remind her of or who did this person remind her of? What is her perception of these events? What is the story that she has been telling herself about it?
With the various methods of tapping we did, she realized that her perceptions of past events had been defining some core beliefs about herself. This was affecting her in many areas of her life.
Some of these stories she had been telling herself for a long time and she discovered that they were based on misinformation.
This didn’t happen over night but we were consistent in working together over a period of a month.
In the end, she states she has greater clarity and emotional detachment from these experiences.
In addition, this emotional draining and distracting reactivity were released and she has been able to relax and adapt. Basically she wasn’t reacting anymore because it didn’t affect her the same way now. Her energy is back and she has been able to mobilize and tackle the remaining obstacles.
